A Big Day Out to The Met
With Heather back from a family trip, we headed into NYC to explore. After riding the subway to the Columbus Circle, we grabbed a cuppa and enjoyed a stroll through Central park, with the late fall leaves just about hanging on!
We arrived at The Met and produced our pre-booked tickets - after all this time in the US, we still hadn’t made it along previously. It was certainly worth it! A vast collection spanning Egyptian temples, US classics, contemporary canvases, Roman-Greco pillars and asian artefacts. I was particularly excited to see the Emanuel Leutze painting of “Washington Crossing the Delaware”, which resonated with our many visits to the local museum and state park.
After closing time we enjoyed a bite to eat before heading to the Richard Rogers theatre to see Hamilton…again! Although we have enjoyed this spectacle before, it was an extra special performance with the original Aaron Burr performing. All around it was a standout cast and a delight to be in the room where it happened.
