Peddlers Village
Although it is still November, and the thanksgiving turkeys are still strutting about, blissfully unaware of their impending doom, the Christmas season is already in full swing!
Although I would prefer to postpone the festivities until December, our weekends are packed until flying home so we needed to squeeze in one of our favourite US traditions early. We drove down into PA and towards Peddlers Village. This quaint setup of stores, cafes and galleries is already decked out for the season. We started our exploration by judging the gingerbread house creations, which as always, displayed a level of sculptured mastery worthy of Bernini.
Onwards to grab a hand warming coffee and a stroll through a variety of christmas shops. We couldn’t say no to a Christmas teddy bear, which reminded us of our usrine friends seen earlier in the year in Yellowstone and Glacier national park. We also found some choccy advent calendars, that never seem to be as common out here in America. We duly snapped them up, so we are fully prepared for the 1st.
Darkness draws in quick these days so we headed home for a walk around the IAS pond before light gave out. A bit of wedding planning for a simultaneously stressful and exciting evening…
